Whether you’re from here or there or beyond, real-world laws beat our rules like Rock crushes Scissors. If your weapon is illegal in Belgium, it’s illegal at GEEK VILLAGE – no matter how cool it looks or how carefully you practiced your katana twirl in the mirror.
Police, firefighters, security, or even our friendly crew dressed like space marshals – if they give you instructions about your weapon, follow them instantly. Don’t argue. Don’t monologue. Just comply like a well-trained stormtrooper.
These are banned faster than you can say “pew pew!”:
Note: If you bring one of these, the police will happily confiscate it – and give you paperwork you won’t want to scrapbook.
Oh, and if you buy any of the above at the con? Keep it in the packaging until you’re home. This isn’t an unboxing channel.
These are allowed inside with rules:
When not in use, keep your prop packed like it’s a nuclear core. Carry it in a sealed bag before and after the event. No swinging it around. No dramatic standoffs. No leaving it behind like an action movie easter egg.
These are the tricky ones. They look real but aren’t dangerous — like a decommissioned Stargate rifle.
Rules:
Any stage prop abandoned in the wild will be seized like a cursed relic.
No worries! Just ask at the box office and you’ll be referred to the Weapon Check folks – they know their phasers from their tasers. Whatever you do, don’t take your prop out of its packaging until they’ve given you the thumbs-up.
We’re here to celebrate fandom, not recreate John Wick 5. Keep it safe, keep it sealed, and we promise you’ll still look epic in photos.
Geek Village is a unique event that brings together fans of all things fantasy, science fiction, gaming, and more. It’s a sanctuary for dreamers, adventurers, and visionaries, offering a vibrant mix of activities, guests, and exhibitors in the inspiring setting of Thor Park.
Geek Village Summer Fest takes place on 15, 16 and 17 August at Thor Park, a location known for its characterful architecture and fusion of past and future elements. The park provides a perfect backdrop for this imaginative and dynamic event.
Geek Village features a wide range of activities including mythical gaming battles, artist and designer exhibitions, competitive and inspiring cosplay events, and hands-on experiences in fab labs and makerspaces. There’s something for everyone from ages 3 to 70.
The Geek Village Summer Fest 2025 lineup includes amazing guests like Aline Goffin, the talented Flemish voice actress known for her role as Elsa in Frozen; Bob van der Houven, a versatile voice-over artist and actor; Cosplaysandlattes, a creative Dutch cosplayer and content creator; and Dennis Menheere, a skilled comic artist known for his distinctive style and comic projects.
Absolutely! We love cosplay. Just make sure any props or weapons are clearly non-functional and safe.
Yes, Geek Village is family-friendly and offers activities and entertainment for all ages. There is even a quest on site! Kids get a reduced ticket price.
Yes, the venue is wheelchair accessible and has adapted restrooms both on The Outer Planes and The Inner Planes (take care: not all toilets inside the building are suitable for wheelchair users but you will notice this on the map). You may use the VIP-lane at the main entrance of the Outer Planes if necessary to enter the festival when the way to The Arch is a bit too steep for you.
Some of the entrances to The Inner Planes (= Thor Central building) are not available for wheelchair users, but the signs will point you in the direction of the serviceable entry points. This will also be clear on the map that you will soon find on the homepage. Inside the building, there are two elevators: one near the Auditorium to access floors 0, +1 and +2 and one close to the accessible toilets (also pointed out on the map).
Only assistance dogs are allowed. The event can be overwhelming for animals.
At Geek Village, you’ll find a diverse array of exhibitors including artists, comic and manga publishers, cosplayers, steampunk and fantasy enthusiasts, board and card game creators, and vendors of geek merchandise. There will be over 100 shops and workshops to explore.
If you’re interested in becoming an exhibitor, you can sign up by filling out the exhibitor form available on our website. We welcome artists, comic/manga publishers, cosplayers, steampunk enthusiasts, board game creators, and many more. Unsure if you qualify? Feel free to ask us for more details.
Tickets can be purchased online through our website. We offer various ticket options including standard tickets, cosplay tickets, early bird tickets, youngling tickets, and free entry for kids up to 3 years old. Be sure to grab your tickets early to take advantage of special prices.
Only if we’re not sold out. We strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance.
At the campsite you can of course eat anything you brought from home (be careful with glass though and make sure to use the bins). However, bringing your own food & drinks to festival is not allowed.
But do not fear: there are so many different types of food to choose from at the food court – or the ‘Delicatesse Emporium‘ as we Geek Villagers like to call it – and various drinks as well (for very acceptable prices too, especially for a festival!). Once you’ve chosen your favourites, there are several places where you can sit and eat spread out over The Outer Planes. However, it’s not allowed to eat or drink in the Auditorium, thanks for your cooperation!
