Ectopop

Ectopop – Electro Chaos. Glitter Beats. Pure Energy.

Meet Ectopop – the explosive new project from Simon Mahieu, known from Hatchling and French rock outfit Marquis. Fueled by punk energy, synth-pop nostalgia, and unapologetic weirdness, Ectopop is the musical equivalent of licking a disco ball in a haunted arcade.

With Simon on vocals and bass, and the dynamic duo Saïda Tilkin and Alexandra Desmet on synths and vocals, Ectopop builds a sound that’s sharp-edged, wildly catchy, and anything but ordinary. Add powerhouse Sara Schroyen on drums, percussion, and vocals, and you’ve got a quartet that’s ready to break every rule – and rewrite them in neon.

Four early demo tracks give us a glimpse of what’s coming:
🎵 Is Your Lover – a warped love song soaked in glitter and glitch
🎵 Beach Song – lo-fi waves and synth high tides
🎵 Big Sis – punchy beats and sassy swagger
🎵 Monkey Paw – twisted pop prophecy with hooks that haunt

Ectopop’s sound lives at the crossroads of Nintendo-core, Kraftwerk minimalism, B-52’s camp, Kap Bambino chaos, and ABBA sheen, with lyrical themes diving headfirst into love, weirdness, and pop-culture mythology. Think: Dragonball meets Cthulhu on the dancefloor.

From the retrofuturistic logo to the genre-defying soundscapes, Ectopop is unmistakably Simon Mahieu – angular, audacious, and always with a wink.

Go. Listen. Dance. Melt your brain (gently). This is Ectopop.
